LEGO Star Wars Microfighters is a game where you navigate a course with a ship, collecting Lego pieces while avoiding losing any that you have on board. Similar to a pod race, you will traverse familiar Star Wars landscapes and steer the ship by turning left or right. The longer you hold down the direction button, the sharper the turn will be. Colliding with obstacles will cause you to lose pieces and damage your ship, eventually leading to the end of the game. To increase your score, collect various Lego pieces that appear throughout the course. You have the option to play with different ships and characters such as Chewbacca and Stormtroopers, and choose to align with the Empire or the Resistance. Your goal is to achieve the highest score possible by strategically navigating the course while collecting as many Lego pieces as you can.
